For those of you who don't have home karaoke machine of your own and don't want to invest
the money to purchase a good system, which could include the cost of the machine, speakers, amplifier, microphones and all the cables and wires to hook it up, here is a very good program that is completely free! It will turn your computer and/or laptop into a karaoke machine
complete with "key changes". I have it on both of my home computers and it works very well.
It's easy to download, setup and use. It's great for a home system and also for light professional use. DO NOT CHANGE THE "TEMPO" OF THE SONGS!
There are 2 ways for you to access this free software. The first is to go to directly to their site which is: www.karaosoft.com/ProductDetails_Karma.aspx and click on the "Download Now"
tab near the top of the page on the left side. However, I have found that this link does not
always work.
The second method is to open up your internet browser and in the search engine type in the words: "Karma karaoke" (not case sensitive), and click on "search". There will be a number
of results shown, but the one that I've found works the very best is: "Karma-Karaoke Management made easy! Show hosting/Presenter software". Under this heading you should
find the same link as the one above. Click on this result and it will take you to the same site
as the link above. Make sure that the name "karaosoft" is featured somewhere in the URL. There are other sites that will charge you or load unwanted programs on your computer!
Again, click on "Download" and it will load the program for you in no time at all. This program does not come with any karaoke songs, so if you are a regular singer of mine, email me and I will let you know how to get the songs you wish to sing. I'll take you through the song loading process, step by step, again very easy!
Once you've loaded the program on your computer, if you should have any questions on it's operation, contact me and I will help you with it. Enjoy your new computer karaoke machine!

mIRC KARAOKE
My present song data base consists of about 230,000 songs and is updated almost daily. On an typical week, I add on average 100 or more songs which include the
latest hits and/or older songs that are requested by my singers but are not in my
list at present. Some hosts brag, and are even proud of the fact that they may have around 20,000 songs, and one host will actually tell you, "if it's not in my book, you
don't need to sing it". Unbelievable!
The KARMA site above will turn your computer/laptop into a karaoke machine. But
now that you have a good karaoke program, where do you get the songs? Well, one way is to email me a request and I can send you, via return email, those songs you
wish to practice. The problem with this is my email provider will only handle 2 or 3 songs per email! That's fine if they are just practice songs but what if you would like
to build up your own data base?
The best way I have found is a site call "mIRC"! This site has virually every karaoke song available, and even songs that are not available on the market. These are
home made songs where someone has taken the time and effort to convert an mp3
of their favorite song and turn it into karaoke format. It also has the latest hits and in most cases, you can choose your favorite disk label such as DK, Sound Choice, Chartbuster, etc.,.And the best thing is you can do it around your schedule...24/7!
This site will cost you about $60, which is a one time fee! That's the cost of 2 disks
and there is no limit to the number of songs you wish to obtain! The easiest way to
get to mIRC is type or click on: www.kisupport.com in your internet address bar or search engine. Once there you will see a blue highlight near the top titled "JOIN US" Click on that and they will take you through the process step by step. I have been using this site for about 10 years and love it! They do have a support staff to help you should you have any problems.
Oh, one final thing about mIRC, once you are set up and have songs, you can
actually make your own compilation karaoke disks! No need to carry disks that
have only one song you perform...now your disk has ALL your songs! Give it a try,
you won't regret it!
